Chocolate mousse (Mousse au chocolat)
Preparation: 30 minutes
Bake: 25 minutes
- 1/3 cup of cocoa
- 2/3 cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 egg yolks slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla liquid
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
Combine cocoa and ¼ cup of sugar in top of double boiler ; add condensed milk and butter. Cook and stir about 10 min or until mixture becomes dark, glossy and thickened. Remove from heat; gradually add to egg yolks.
Return mixture to top double boiler. Cook and stir about 10 min longer. Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and cool to lukewarm. Beat egg whites with tablespoon of sugar until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold chocolate mixture into egg whites. Whip cream; fold into mixture. Spoon into 6 dessert dishes.
